BIBLICAL TEACHING
Open the Word.
Make room to grow.
An invitation to read carefully, reflect prayerfully, and live faithfully.
OUR APPROACH
Let Scripture shape the conversation.
We encourage a thoughtful reading of the Bible that begins with the passage itself and keeps its wider context in view.
01
Read in context
Read the surrounding verses. Notice who is speaking, to whom, and what the passage is addressing.
02
Observe with care
Look for repeated words, promises, commands, and connections. Distinguish what the passage says from your own first impressions.
03
Respond in faith
Bring your questions to God in prayer. Consider how the truth of the passage calls you to trust, love, and obey.
BEGIN HERE / JOHN 15:1–11
Abide in Christ.
In John 15, Jesus uses the image of a vine and its branches to describe the life His disciples have in Him. Read the whole passage slowly before reflecting on a single verse.
Notice the connection between abiding, bearing fruit, the words of Jesus, prayer, love, obedience, and joy. Let the passage guide your response.
For your reflection
What does the vine-and-branches picture teach about dependence on Christ?
How does Jesus connect abiding in Him with His words and His love?
What would a prayerful response to this passage look like in your life today?
Keep a record of what you are learning.
Use the Scripture reflection guide as you read, pray, and respond.
