God’s Handiwork

“For we are God’s handiwork”

Ephesians 2:10, NIV · excerpt

Paul places this little jewel after the assurance that salvation is God’s gift, received through faith. Then he speaks of a life newly created in Christ, with good works God has prepared for us. Grace is the beginning of the whole story. Read Ephesians 2:8–10.

God’s handiwork.

These words turn our eyes toward the One who is at work. The life we receive in Christ bears His care. We come with histories we cannot undo and places we cannot mend by determination alone. His grace reaches us there.

I love the tenderness of that belonging. The passage gives us room to receive before it asks us to walk. Even the good ahead of us begins with His generosity.

Perhaps today there is a kindness within reach: a visit we can make, a wrong we can put right, a need we can quietly meet. Such things can become a grateful response to the grace we have received.

We do not have to see the whole path to offer Him this day. We can ask for eyes to notice what love requires in the place where we are.

Father, how precious that You are at work in us. Let gratitude soften the places where we have grown impatient with ourselves. Teach us to welcome Your shaping and to trust the wisdom of Your hands.

Abba Father,

Thank You for the gift of life in Christ. I receive Your grace with open hands.

Meet me in the places I have tried to repair alone. Where I need to repent, make me willing. Where I need help, give me humility to receive it. Let Your kindness reach the parts of my story I find difficult to bring into the light.

Open my eyes to the good I can do today. Help me recognize the person who needs attention and the small act of love that is mine to offer.

I entrust my growth to You. May the life You are forming in me bear the beauty of Your character.

In Yeshua’s bountiful name, Amen.

My Stone of Remembrance: The grace that makes me new also opens a way for me to love.
